UK Bloggers Get Together

In light of our previous blogging f2f event, and Euan's get-together, and most importantly Cory's secondment to the UK, I thought it would be nice for us all to get together, hang out, make new friends, and generally have some fun. I have no preference to when we might go ahead and do this, so i'm hoping to open the discussion here, and update this post as details are agreed...

  2. I'd prefer a weekend, but don't care other than that. I'm guessing that other people like me who aren't in London would prefer that as well.

    Whatever date/time count me in (even if I have to take leave) because I'd _pay_ to shake the hand of Cory Doctorow.

  12. Looks like May 12th is the best day to get everyone together in the right place - and it ties in when Loic is in town. looks like we have -

    Cory, John, Jacob, James, Gerard, Tom... and from Loic's wiki page: Allan, Gary, Neil, Euan, Pietro, Matt, Tom...

    i'll also talk to fluffy and see about joining forces there too. Of course, getting weekends can sometimes be hard - so it might still end up as two events.

    What about a venue? does anyone have a preference?

  14. Waterloo and the Southbank seems to have some really nice and quiet places to eat, otherwise how about east of the city of London. Really dont fancy hanging out in Clerkenwell, Hoxton Square or the West end... But will go where really.

  16. not sure how to use wiki however would like to come.. been running 3 blogs.. mostly mobile based.. all a little out of date.. pc issues...

    would like to attend..

    been working in the space and doing other interesting things.. Cory - think we've actually met once at a DDMI conference around 2000 in HK... I think we were both panelists (but on separate threads...)

  18. As I've already said in the wiki, I will definitely be there. When the venue is decided, how do we find out where it is and what time?

    Please, not the South Bank! It's hell to get there and even worse to get home from if you don't have a car. Which I don't.

    How about Hampstead? Lots of pubs with nice outdoor tables and food. For instance Jack Straw's castle, or the Devonshire.
